Chapter 2.01 Municipal Organization
2.0101 Type of Organization
The City of Scotland is and shall be a municipal corporation of the second class as provided by the laws of the State of South Dakota, and is and shall be governed by the aldermanic form of government, whose chief executive is a Mayor.
2.0102 Territorial Limits
The City of Scotland shall include all territory embraced within the original townsite of Scotland, plus any and all such additions as are or were made thereto as provided an in conformity with law.
2.0103 Ward Boundaries
The City of Scotland shall be divided into three wards to be known and designated and to include the following portions of the city:
First Ward
- that portion of the City lying North of Man Street
Second Ward
- that portion of the City lying East of First Street and South of Main Street
Third Ward
- that portion of the City lying West of First Street and South of Main Street.
