If you've recently purchased or built a new home or business in Scotland, please stop by the Finance Office at 530 Juniper Street to open an account. This must be done before water/sewer/garbage services may begin. A $100 deposit is required to open a new account. If the water is currently off at the residence, there is a $50 charge to turn the water on.
Water, Sewer, Garbage, and Sewer Surcharge are included on the monthly billing. Which is mailed out at the first of the month and due by the 20th of the month. All Payments received after the 20th day of the month will be assessed a late fee of $25. After the 20th day of the month a notice will be mailed out with full payment due within 10 days or your service will be disconnected. A partial payment is not sufficient to stop the disconnection of service. In order to restore service after a disconnection for nonpayment, all past due monthly charges and current monthly charges, together with a reconnection fee of $50 during regular working hours and $100 after regular working hours must be paid in full. A partial payment is not sufficient to resume service.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted as forms of payment. There is a drop box at the Finance Office so payments may be dropped off before and after office hours. Regular office hours are 8:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 5:00pm Monday thru Friday.
The City of Scotland contracts with PayGov for credit card payments. Please note that there is a convenience fee of 3% of the transaction with a minimum of $1 for all transactions under $33. Credit card payments may also be taken in the office or over the phone by calling the Finance Office at (605) 583-2320.

All residents living East of Highway 25 will have garbage picked up on Tuesdays.
All residents living West of Highway 25 will have garbage picked up on Fridays.
